Redesign hour registration app (mobile)
Tellow
Tellow is a company that specializes in online accounting for independent professionals (freelancers). In addition to their main platform, available as a website and app, the company also offers an additional platform called Tellow Time. This platform allows freelancers to easily manage their time tracking and integrate it with their Tellow account.
I was given the responsibility of redesigning the outdated Tellow Time app.
Research
To begin this project, I first conducted thorough research on the current app. After downloading it, it quickly became clear how outdated it was and how it deviated from Tellow's current branding.
As I had never used a time-tracking app myself, I also researched competitors to gain an understanding of market standards.
With this insight, I started identifying issues through user testing with the target audience. I guided the users through the app, asking various questions, while also having them explore competitors’ apps to identify potential problems or unmet needs.
Problem solving
After researching the problems and needs of the target audience, I summarized everything through user stories. This approach gave me a clear understanding of the issues and what the audience was missing, allowing me to base the new design on these insights.
The most common issues that emerged from my research were related to usability. The design was confusing and did not function well. It was my responsibility to address and resolve these issues.
Design
When designing Tellow Time, I had to ensure it aligned with Tellow's branding to make it clear that the two were connected.
My main focus was on improving the app's structure and optimizing its usability.
Design
The new design of the app has been completely overhauled based on the needs of both the target audience and stakeholders. Special attention was given to integrating Tellow's branding, ensuring it is clearly recognizable as part of the company.
Users now benefit from a clearer overview of their time tracking and can effortlessly log their worked hours within the app.
